Yesterday I had a discussion with my dear friend Aftab about having a border-less world which was an idea that has occupied my mind for quite few months.

In my wildest imagination, I believe that having countries and borders should be removed as I don't think it is fair to restrain other humans from accessing earthly resources anywhere on earth just because they were born somewhere else.

I think all humans should have access to all earthly resources and opportunities anywhere based on how hard they work and what they achieve throughout their lives. Not by belonging to a greater bordered community that happens to control a specific piece of the earth with its available resources.

I really want to discuss this idea and brainstorm its applicability and feasibility.

Do you agree/disagree?
Why so?
and How do you see it coming if you agree it's something worth working for?

  2. well, it is a little bit more complicated than that. in this world you have cultures and groups of people. They used to be isolated and distant, and only recently, thanks to the internet, communication has been increasingly faster between them. These cultures and groups are not all equal. Some cultures are more productive than others, some cultures are more aggressive than others, and some cultures are just plain stupid compared to others.

if a country is well developed, natural resources help, but they are not the main catalyst for that development. Human resources are. I don't want to state the Japan example or the ancient Egyptians example or even the barbaric Arabic tribes who went ahead and conquered most of the ancient world that was already under the control of two huge empires. Natural resources are nice, but they are not that big of a factor. The people are everything. The separation we have now in countries was/is there to protect that. To make sure that not some group of people, say the Germans, work their asses off to make a good environment and a pleasant place to live only to have lazy ass people like Arabs come and live in it and fuck it up for them. it just happened that "Where you were born?" is the best approximation we have now for what is your culture like. It is not 100% true, but it is very close. When countries share a lot of common cultures and benefits they open up to each others. For example the EU, they all have close European culture, and they all benefit from each others. Germany supports them financially, and they get a huge market and insane political force in front of the whole world. Another example is "Dewal Magles El Ta3awn El 5alegy" or the Gulf Counsel. I assume they all like to fuck she-camels so they decided to share them, something of that sort.

point is, it is not that simple, the system they have today isn't perfect, but it is an attempt to solve the problem. Developed countries already share very similar thing. If you are american or europian, it is very easy for you to travel and work and live anywhere you like, because people know your probably have a "good" culture. If you are from a poor stupid country, then you probably have a "bad" culture, and they don't want you. Until you can somehow prove otherwize (i.e: immigration)

  3. But wouldn't this current way be deemed prejudiced by categorizing people as good or bad based on where they come from. May be it should be modified such that individuals are judged based on their specific cases and certain criteria in a sense that whoever meets it should get access to a border-less world, for example.
